This course is recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.

RSA (Training in Responsible Service of Alcohol) description:

The Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 places responsibilities on licensees and staff. That means each person how wants to work in hospitality e.g. bars, restaurants, hotels etc. in which alcohol get sold has to sit a RSA training

Rules:

□       DO NOT serve anyone who is underage. (under 18 years of age)

□       RECOGNISE intoxication and try not to serve anyone to the point of
   obvious intoxication.

□       DO NOT serve anyone who is already intoxicated.

□       DISCOURAGE people from taking part in activities that may cause harm.

Definition of an intoxication person:

A person is in a state of intoxication if his or her speech, balance, co-ordination or behaviour is noticeable affected and there are reasonable grounds for believing that this is the result of the consumption of liquor.

Criminal proceeding:

The money paid in compensation for loss suffered in a civil mater is called damages. It can include medical fees, loss of income, pain and suffering.

Licensees should ensure that they are appropriately informed about issues relation to duty of care. Advice should be sought from their legal advisers or industry associations.
